faq

Q: Why should I go through Dishfarms instead of someone I found in the online ads?

A: Dishfarms specializes in satellite system design and technical support.  You can find anyone including your next door neighbor to install your expensive equipment, but will you align you wheels with a ruler?  Do you want a dollar shop instant camera to capture your wedding pictures?  Will you let your dad cut your hair?  Point is anyone can install a dish, anyone can plug in your router, but quality of the work will go a long way.  We go through a set list of protocols to ensure the job is done right.

Q: Do you work on PVR, HD and Dual tuner setups?

A: Yes, we know how to work with all types of receivers and switches.

Q: Do you offer warranty?

A: Yes, we offer warranty on all the work that we do, we back up our work because we know it will last, that is how confident we are.  (We only provide warranty on FULL SETUPS by DISHFARMS, for example, if you mounted and installed the satellite dish yourself but DISHFARMS aimed your dish, there is NO WARRANTY because if the mount is not stable, the dish will eventually loose its signal lock.)

Q: I have a old dish, can I use it?

A: Yes, doesn't matter how old your dish is, we can modify it to work with your system, saving your money too.

Q: I live in Vernon, Can I get service tomorrow?

A: We have technicians throughout BC, please request a travel special on our contact us page.  Travel cost will be spread between all the customers in that service area, so the bigger the group, the lower the travel cost.

Q: Do you guys sell equipment?

A: We do help our customers sell previously owned equipment and we can definitely get new equipment for our customers at a competitive price.  Due to the HIGH volume of calls, we can only buy/sell equipment to customers who are planning to have a system install by DISHFARMS.

Q: Do you guys program receivers?

A: We do not program or alter factory software of any kind.  We will educate you on your product of choice and provide online training through 3rd party websites.  AGAIN WE DO NOT PROGRAM RECEIVERS/CARDS of ANY KIND.  Please DO NOT ask our technicians to do so at the job site either.

Q:  I have a Viewsat receiver at home, can DISHFARMS still point my dish?

A: Yes we can, we will use any compatible device such as (NFusion, Coolsat, Pansat, CNX, Viewsat) to verify signal reception ONLY.  We cannot and will not guarantee service, please call your local satellite service provider.

Q:  I want PPV, East Indian Channels and Local stuff can you help me?

A: Most satellite providers will offer these type of programming.  Please visit
www.lyngsat.com to find out which satellite you need for those channels.  After you find out which satellite in the sky carries your channel, we can definitely help you install and aim your dishes to get those satellites.  Service might not be available in all areas.  Programming and packages are available from your satellite service provider and are required to receive channels that are not intended for FREE viewing.  Your stock FTA receiver are only designed for FTA satellites and are not designed to work with 3rd party softwares.  Attempting to modified or re-program your receiver can cause damage to the recevier.
